PICE Zamboanga City Leads Successful Nationwide Blood-Donation Drive: Handog Dugo Ngayong Pasko

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE), Zamboanga City Chapter, recently organized a nationwide and simultaneous blood-letting activity in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross. Held on December 10, 2022, at the Old Conference Room of the DPWH Regional Office IX, the event aimed to contribute to the community's welfare during the holiday season.

As part of PICE's commitment to social responsibility and community development, this joint initiative with the Philippine Red Cross provided an opportunity for individuals to give the gift of life by donating blood. The theme of the event, "Handog dugo ngayong Pasko," reflected the spirit of generosity and compassion that epitomizes the Christmas season.

The blood-letting activity witnessed an overwhelming response from participants across the city. People from various walks of life came forward to support this noble cause, demonstrating the unity and solidarity of the engineering community in promoting social welfare.

Through the combined efforts of PICE and the Philippine Red Cross, a total of 13 blood bags, each containing 450cc of life-saving blood, were collected during the event. These donations will help replenish the blood supply in local hospitals and save countless lives in times of emergencies and medical needs.
